  • Working in Cardiff at the moment, any good places to smoke?

    Hi

I'm working in Cardiff at the moment, was hoping to find somewhere good (comfy, bar, etc) to smoke in the evening? Anyone here from Cardiff or know where to go?

A quick google tells me that "The Bear Shop" is THE cigar shop to visit, so must try and check it out - maybe they can also point me in the right direction.

    Cheers

    Steven

    Hi Steven,

the bear shop is THE cigar shop lol but it is most definitely worth a visit!

Not too sure of the best places to smoke, I suppose it depends what you're into. there are 2 cuba bars in Cardiff but neither actually sell cigars, although you can get your rum based cocktails there. the one above the club called revolution (in front of the castle) has a nifty little set of tables and chairs in it's secluded back area. quite nice if the whether's up to it.

if you don't mind a kitsch and groovy surrounding then Gwdihw behind John Lewis has a lovely back area and they hosted a cigar rum and pipe night last year that i'm still (yes still) banging on about to this day.

As for classier venues, you might want to scope out a few spots on Cathedral Road. The Cricketers has a lovely garden area if memory serves but it's not particularly a cigar smoking joint. There's a lovely front forecourt outside Jolyons Hotel - Cardiff's 'Boutique Hotel' and a friend and i enjoyed a nice smoke there once without upsetting anyone - there are fancy patio heaters, and the food there is pretty bang on too. only downside is that you are on the front by a road so you'll need friendly entertainment to detract from that.

I hope you find a nice spot mate! i'm sure the other Cymro will be along soon to help with the list

Couple of nice places down the bay. Bar Cwtch, Eli Jenkins have covered outdoor areas.

Steve - went to Eli Jenkins last week, plenty of space out front, just missing the nicer weather at the moment!

Walking around the city centre, most bars/pubs have seated/heated outside areas, will be superb in the summer months
