  • Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto

Had one yesterday from a 3 pack, seem to be popular here.
Good looking stick with a darker wrapper than the epi 1.
Construction is excellent and has a look of quality.
Little or no smell from the stick.
    Draw was good.
It was basically a medium strenght and stayed there up until halfway and taste was similar to the smell, little or none. Another hdm that was bland and was ended at the halfway point. Leaf was excellent and there was nothing bad in the stick at all, looked to be at perfect humidity as well.
Everything points to a great smoke but it failed badly.
    Age ???????????

Very very odd. Was it too young? Albeit, these are very good young too. Smokable from the off.

HdMs Epicure 2s/1s are generally too light for me. But the PR always does the job. I say; keep trying!

Mild cigars are always going to suffer during a walk, I've restricted myself to quinteros during a dog walk now

Where abouts are you, that looks like derbyshire

Great ROTT as young as you like are the PR! But yeh, a walk, in the wind, can make any stick suffer...

Sorry guys, in the middle of a wood and not a breath of wind.
Sat down on a nicely placed log seat and puffed away.
Gave up at the halfway mark and fired up a Boli cj and that was just bliss.
Petit edmundo that I had previously was in a different league.
Will keep the other 2 and see if they get better.

I'm surprised you didn't enjoy the PR, it's a favourite of mine and can't remember seeing many negative reviews on here.

Bad luck. I just love these. Just bought a box in Belgium. They have barely ever disappointed me. Maybe one duff one in very many delicious ones.
Have to say, to each is own though!

I think you got a dud as i used to hate these with a passion but now i love them thanks to the guys on here.

Maybe it was too young or maybe the Scottish air is different than English smog.
