Well, actually, not a don TJ tidbit, as the article linked below was not written by the don.
But since there has been a lot of discussion lately about storing fine puros, I thought I'd post a link to a recent article that I think some may find helpful. I know Juggler Boy did!
I'm hoping that's where buying the actual beads might help over the kitty litter, with a bit of luck, fingers crossed etc, it's more accurate for adding/removing humidity from the surrounding atmosphere?
Either way tuppers are deffo the way to go, though I'm never getting rid of my wood humi's or sticking them in tuppers either, just adding tuppers for more storage
Considering that a lot of people like to store their sticks at 65% with beads it was my understanding that the atmosphere had to be a good deal dryer than that for the sticks to start losing their oils. That article seems to suggest that people who store at 65% are walking the tightrope a bit when it comes to long term storage and flavour.

Definitely had the impression over time from my online investigations, including I think quotes from Min Ron Nee suggesting less than 70% and more like 65% was the way to go... And some weird suggestions that Cubans should be stored lower than NCs, from places like the CA forum, no idea why though...
Personally I store at around 65% without issue, and still sometimes dry box for smoking!
