Do smoke eliminators really work?

So I'm about fed up with this weather and up until now I've only ever smoked outside, but this weather is getting out of hand, only managed one cigar this month...

So thinking about making a smoking room, try as best to seal it off from the rest of the house when the door is shut etc

I've looked at external fans but the price is putting me off (Knocking a hole in the wall and the actual unit) so been looking at air purifiers like

Do these things work well or are they more of an electronic version of wafting a newspaper towards an open window? Old cigar smoke is pretty strong, I can't see these things making a room seem as if no one has smoked there

I use an original Csonka air purifier and if I smoke in the evening I leave the air purifier on all night, when I wake up in the morning all smell of cigar smoke has gone. The fabric of the sofa doesn't retain the smell nor does the carpet, I tried all the candles in the past and this is the only thing that really works.

I second Agricola's comments. I have a Csonka smoker cloaker, and it works great. I leave it on all night and the room smells fresh in fact. They're not cheap, but they're a worthwhile investment if you smoke inside a lot (like I do)!

Hmm thanks guys, seems like they could be the answer to this shameful weather!

I didn't even think about the candles, I forgot they even existed!
