  • PLPC- your thoughts?

After almost a year off buying cigars and having a very meagre collection, I'm starting to gradually build up my humi stock in time for the 'warmer' months.

Decided the best way to go was to buy a cab of 'go-to' sticks to make the initial attack on my almost empty humi. Been trying to decide for a week or so, spending hours reading reviews and decided that I'm gonna go with a 50 cab of PLPC. Then I'll gradually start adding cigars as my
    funds allow.

I prefer smoking Robusto size cigars, but I figure the more cost-friendly pc's will make good in-between smokes.

I have smoked one or two PLPCs but i remember having draw problems with both, but i remember liming them.

Anyway, even after reading probably every review that there is about this cigar, just interested to hear the thoughts of you guys? Thanks

If I had the funds to buy a 50cab I would! Simples
A cigar is not measured by its cost - It is measured by how much it burns your fingers

I like the PLPC, but a 50 cab is a big commitment to one vitola, especially when you say you don't have a large stash that might provide a more balanced smoking variety. It's a shame that PL never introduced a 25 box, that I would buy, but I'm never out of this cigar, Mitch sells them 'Bundle 10'.

If you prefer Robusto, why not consider some of the 10 boxes, PDS4, RyJ SC or Boli Royal Coronas?
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

I like them with some age 3+ years. Not so much when younger than that.

As Tippexx mentioned. It's too bad they don't offer them in a 25ct box and have always wondered why they dont?

I agree with Arf on this one. If you like Robustos then stick to them. Any of the above would be great!

I've had two PLPC's, and i remember liming them both.

I find robustos are generally good.

The 50 cab is a big undertaking but IMHO its a great investment but if you want a good robusto you cant go wrong with a upmann connie 1

The reasoning for going for the cab of 50 PLCS's is mainly a value thing, price per stick, seems very economical, especially as the flavour profile sounds perfect for me.

My plan was to get a cab of these for a 'staple' smoke, then gradually try to build up some variety. With next on the list being a box of Upmann Connie #1, then Partagas D4s.

If I could get singles for the same value I'd be able to get much more variety into my smoking much quicker, but it seems that 'bulk' buying will be much more cost effective.

But now I'm questioning myself after some of the replies....maybe a box of Connie #1 and a box of 10 PSD4 so I could at least have 2 quality robustos to alternate....

Just when I think I'm 100% decided, I have another day ahead of obsessing and deliberating lol.

TBH the connie ne is a great smoke when young its mildish when aged its medium and creamy

But if your unsure why not buy some singles to try and just regard them as money well spent if you dont like them im sure someone els here would trade you for them

Some samplers offer better value, maybe give them a shot for a quick build up on variety...as for the psd4, its by far the best robusto imo.

The 25 dress box existed, it was very difficult to find, and discontinued in 2002. I have had 2 boxes of these, found in Andorra. They were much milder than the cabinet version at the same age; floral, honeyed, but lacking strenght.
I also have smoked 2 cabinets and I won't buy this cigar again. The construction is too random, the good flavors and balance need 5 years to shine?
