But still whats the point of these damn ashtrays it just burns your crotch whatever you do.

I don't have one, but the main appeal of them to me is having somewhere to be able to lay the cigar to rest so you don't have to hold it constantly. Other people also don't like long ashes, they believe it hinders the burn and that it can aid in the pesky formation of tunneling so they like to tap their ash off by touching the ash on the ash tray before it gets too long and burns your plumbs

I think we have all encountered this situation more than once along out cigar travels. Always amusing to look back on, never amusing at that time!

Ashtrays are pretty useful really Reave .... designed to stop people grinding out stubs on the Wilton!

My ashtray is there for when I scoop up the ash from my shirt or down my Chesterfields side. It rarely gets used directly!
