What are your views and experiences on these??

I'm looking to buy some cheaper cigars so i can fill the day a lil more, and I found the following at quite good prices, does anyone have any experiences with them, good or bad etc?? Thanks

Had a couple of jlp. Not too impressed. Just tobacco and spice flavours. La flor de cano are very nice though. The Quintero panatela are very well thought of here but I have no personal experiences with them. What is your definition of cheap? That way we may be able to make some more suggestions

I love Fonsecas. Although the Delicias is the only one of the few available that i haven't tried.

I like Quinteros. They have a good complexity for Cubans which are comparatively inexpensive.

I've only ha one or two La Flor De Canos, but i found them to be well worth what you pay (again, in comparison to the generally extortionate cigar prices in this country).

As for Jose L Piedras. I have had two in the range, and found them both foul. You might as well get something Dutch..........

The only Piedra that I like and purchase is the Petit Cazadores. It's strong but balanced.
I don't like Fonsecas, and the Delicias (made with short filler) is the worst of them IMO. The Fonseca No.1 isn't bad, though…

I think the JLP are great for the money to be honest. I usually pick up a bundle for around ?30 when I'm abroad and keep them in a specific humidor for the young guys I work with that fancy a cigar rather than a rolly. Often though if I fancy a cigar whilst I'm doing office work or gardening I think they're ok. They come in for a lot of bad press and whilst they don't really develop and aren't that complex I think it's massively unfair and misleading to compare them to the dutch/dry cigars.

The quinteros offer good value too.

I would go with fonseca the No1 is a great (for the price) churchill sized smoke and the KDT cadet is just great

JLP i smoked about 80 of them a bundle of the cremas,petite things and something els and they aint really very good vault in the end pount for pound fonseca and La Flor De Cano are far better IMHO

I use the JLP Conservas as my 'decoy' smokes .... something to give out or to hit on cold days when I don't want to 'waste' something better.

But that list on the front thread is missing the best cheap smoke you can buy, and one which rates way above many this Forum's much loved Habanos.

JLP Petit Cazadores I find a reasonable smoke. Quintero Panatelas are pretty good too - I probably prefer them to the JLP's. Neither of these are amazing cigars for me, but are a decent, cheap cigar for when you just fancy a cigar, but don't want to really 'relax with a cigar' if that makes sense.

Well, Rock Around The Clock was big that release year. Totalmento a mano since 2002. They're a limited production cigar and pretty much snapped up as soon as they hit shelves. Ravi had his 2011 boxes IN last month ... ALL gone!
