Suggestions on a reliable lighter.

Im now totally fugged off with my lighter its decided to start a annoying habit of cutting out every second or two so its real frustrating to light any big cigar.

So im open to suggestions on a new lighter anyone got a recommendation for a nice jet flame one size dosnt really matter to me it never leaves the house price though must be under ?70 and it must run of butane.

PS> Im not fond of flashy looking lighters i would much rather have it look like the ugly stick took a liking to it but it dose its job every time.

Do a search on eBay for "turbo flame arc" ideal if it's the kind that never leaves the house...

Millett's do a twin flame turbo for about ?7, called EUROHIKE, it's a pile of poo but works ok.

If it is cutting out a lot I've found using a compressed air duster to blast the nozzle sometimes clears a blockage.

I buy the cheap Chinese ?3 jet lighters With the large clear gas tank from fleabay. I've had ?30 lighters before but every one of them pack up on the end

I've found most of the time lighter problems are due to either air in the tank, in which case you need to purge the lighter or like SmokeyDave says need to give it a good clean with compressed air. Also I own a St Dupont Maxi Jet, Mini Jet as well as some cheapos, my favourite lighter is a Bugatti B1 which I picked up for next to nothing in the US, never lets me down.

Got to swear by the Dupont Max Jets but they're pretty damn expensive. It's what I rely on.

Colibri firebird, you can find them on ebay and they are about a tenner. I have one and it is very good.

Been looking to get a cheap, reliable butane lighter myself. Ebay it is! Getting fed up using a dozen matches to light a cigar.

Cgars charge ?5 postage. Trawl ebay and you can find it cheaper.

I love the Blazer CG-001. It's ultra reliable and has a huge tank, plus you can see the fluid level, never be surprised and run out. I dropped mine in my swimming pool once, dove down and got it, put it out to dry, and it was working after an hour or two in the sun. About $30 online in the US.

I've had very bad luck with expensive Colibri lighters.

For what it's worth I use a Xikar Element which has worked flawlessly since I got it, if you register it they send you a leather sheeth and you get a lifetime warranty (same with all Xikar products). It's about ?50-?60 at UK prices but you can get it cheaper from the states, I think I paid about ?30 for mine.
