    Hullo there!
On saturday I shall be going into town to buys some cigars in my local tobacconist, Miss Moran's. They are generally rather overpriced (?10 for a monte 4) so I was wondering what everyone here would suggest for a newbie cigar smoker on a rather loose but relatively low budget. Unfortunately I can't order cigars online where prices are cheaper because I still live with my parents (I just turned 18) who would not exactly approve of this hobby/interest.
    All suggestions welcome!
    cheers

        Hey paddy what about ya!
Although the Reyes is divine they really Need a few years on them so bear that in mind however if you find the Hoyo PR like zig says they are spot on and smoking well young, also the Hoyo epi 2 for a little larger
        That would be me now
        Cheers

Paddy I know what your tLking about, Miss Moran is well over priced, although he does a couple of cheaper non-Cuban alternative which are under a tenner I think, try the Olivia brand or the Tatauje brand.

You can normally find the following at your local sainsburys/asda(are they still asda or is it morrisons now)/tesco for about ?7-8 each and TBH they aint bad just humidify them a bit if your planning to keep them for a while.

What you should look for are

Montecristo petite tubo - aka a montie 4 with a tubo
            H.Upmann coronas junior
Punch coronations/petite coronas it seems to vary

As people have said the NC olivia brand is good aswell i like the G and O series which i suggest you try the churchill is nice along with the robusto which are both under ?7 normally also the Luis Martinez cigars are quite nice and well priced imo.

Also your 18 now just because you live at home dosnt mean your folks have any ability to control you anymore tell them its your life and your money and this is what i want to spend it on and if they dont like the smoke then suggest you smoke outside but they will find out one way or another (i swear my mum must work for the CIA at times with her ability to pick up on stuff) and itull be better if you just tell them instead of them finding out all of a sudden.

Oliva are good smokes. as said above the serie G robusto is a great example of a good N/C as well as the serie V range.

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

hey paddy, welcome to the forum!!!

i frequent miss morans quite regularly, and yeah, they are expensive!!! to start with, most of the suggestions you'll get on here won't be available in miss morans!!! however, you'll find the usual suspects for AROUND A TENNER!!! trinidad reyes ?10, cohiba siglo 1 ?11, cohiba maduro secreos ?12, vega robaina famosos ?13, bolivar tubos 2 ?11! the favs on here, such as partagas psd4, bolivar royal robusto, ryj short churchill etc are around ?15 each!!! the most expensive cigars he has in the shop is the cuaba salamones and cohiba esplendidos (?32 each)!!

btw, here's some info i gathered for us cigar lovers here in northern ireland:

i'd recommend you, if possible, check out the vineyard on the ormeau road!!! they have a great selection of tubed cuban cigars (better than miss morans tubed selection)!

                all the best,

                alex
