Ok so ive gone from hamlets to montecristo minis, both of these where nothing like the cigar i had at a wedding last year..... the cigar tasted nothing like tobacco. And tasted good. I'm not really keen on the strong tobacco taste i get when i smoked the montecristo minis..... i thought these would be a huge step away from the poor hamlets i had but turned out to be tasteless and like the hamlets i just got a tobbaco hit........

Ok so what am i looking for in a cigar............

1.NOT to taste of tobacco or at least not be over powering
    2. flavour wise not sure as im new to this but i would like a cigar that has a clear taste i can pick out so i can take it from there.
    3. small enough to not be out for over an hour (hence the reason for me buying small cigars) but judging by my experience im going to have to get a ''proper'' cigar to start off with

    Thanks for helping,
    Kind regards,
    dave.

There are many cubans / non cubans that have loads more flavour and punch than the minis your smoking. To name a few: Trinidad Reyes, Punch Coronation, Montecristo Edmundos, El Ray del Mundo Demi Tasse, Quarum Torpedo (NC). Overall, its best to discover what smokes are best for you.

Saying that, a more seasoned cigar veteran might chip in after me and help out!

thank you for your input L DOG

yes i understand that the one that is right for me can only be found by myself

if i want a cigar with a more full flavour i guess i need to go for med to full cigars.

i guess the small ones are a very bad starting point due to having little inside them so inturn having a dull flavour.... if any at all

For a short 15 minute smoke you could try the Cohiba Club. That one is FULL of flavour, and NOTHING like the run of the mill short cigars.

For the best 50 minute smoke, in my opinion (and it has already been mentioned here).... the Trinidad Reyes.

I might go for the Trinidad Reyes then

Has a good write up on the site i buy from also..... and you cannot go wrong with aromas of woody spices mixed with coffee

          thanks omegar

Yeees, maybe a Ramon Allones Small Club Corona too, great cigar in my opinion. And the Romeo y Julieta No.3, 2 of my favouries I have found so far in my short cigar journey

I would try the Trini Reyes to start with mate. They are not strong and have a pleasnt taste profile.

I recently bought a 10pack of hamlet and was severely dissapointed in terms of taste and build qaulity
and as for the montecristo i just got 2x10s and they are a very nice size but yes the flavour wasnt to great in my opinion

have you ever considered flavoured mini's?

backwoods have a beautiful flavour but lack built qaulity and dont burn smoothly

candlelight senorita's are another good mini with beautiful flavour and good build qaulity

RyJ petit Julietta's are a good 30 min smoke but the last pack of 5 i had were poor construction, Monkeynuts gifted me 3 Quintero panatella's which i really like bags of flavor when not rushed

Minis will always be inconsistent in quality as they are machine made, tres petit coronas are your best bet for a small hand rolled smoke with a real Cuban feel.

As already said Trinidad Reyes are awesome, a lot of fans of them on here, some suggestions I can think of are Ramon Allones Small Club Corona, Cohiba Siglo I, San Cristobal El Principe, Montecristo No5, Romeo Y Julieta Petit Princesse, Hoyo du Monterrey Du Depute, Por Larranaga Petit Corona.

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.
