Yep, if he expects to get close to the quoted Amazon figure! I beleive it's better to just start at the minimum figure your wanting than use the reserve facitllity. Guess ?50-60 more likely. Wouldn't part with mine though until the next edition comes out, with the extra super photos & the LE & RE released since the original. Hate to imgaine what the price will be

I advise you to get the first edition while you can. The author himself has expressed the possibility to sell the new book exclusively to buyers of the first encyclopedia. No kidding!

How would he enforce that, they are not serial numbered?

I once had to take a photo of a book's copyright page next to a newspaper to prove I was the current owner so I could buy the next limited edition in a series by Stephen King. Could be a way of doing it

Smallclub...where did you hear this info?

A thread about the next Encyclopaedia on ICC, I think it was in 2007 or 2008, when MRN was still posting there…

The books do not a a serial number, so a photo of any copy would do ...again I think this is not a viable option.

monkey....i said I had to send a pic of the copyright page with that day's newspaper. I never said anything about using a random photo of any old copy...

Yep, I have had to do the same as Stevie a couple of times for a few books, and have had to take a picture of the book with a newspaper, a picture with me holding it at a certain page and so forth.

As said however, very easy for multiple pictures to be taken on different days, with different newspapers, to help spread the love to others.

I will definitely be putting the new copy on my xmas list once it arrives.

It will not be a "new copy", but a completely distinct work. Anyway, from what I've understood this book will be voluminous, expensive and hard to obtain (limited number of copies).
