  • Look what I pulled from my cigar...

I don't know why, but the thought of pulling something from my cigar, make its sound vile...luckily this isnt so bad.

So, I was tucking in to a Padron 1964, and I was a good two thirds through, it wasn't a bad little smoke, all the 64s I had had before, I do remember being more enjoyable...but I think I'm just on a NC downer at the moment. Anyway, as I puffed away, and pulled the cigar from my mouth, I notice something in the end that looked a little off, it looked like there was something in the cigar, that was just off colour, and wasnt sitting flush like the normal collection of leaves does. As I was pretty much over the cigar, I decided to find out what it was. I pulled some of the end apart, and managed to grab the end of this. With on little pull, the whole thing then came out. As far as I can tell....its a twig.

After this, I saw the end of another twig like substance, so pulled that out too.

Now, I know I have read about this somewhere before, but Im not sure on the exact details, so Im hoping someone can fill me in on exactly what is going on here. I havent ever found this before, but then again, I may just not have notice before. I always thought Padron were well respected for their construction, and overall goodness...I didnt think they would have any reason to stuff their cigars full of twigs.

Another reason to stay away from all these poxy NCs at the moment.

I could be wrong but I think that may be the stem of a tobacco leaf.

The thing on the left looks bizarre but the other is definitely the stem of a leaf - not a rare occurrence…

If you plant them, you'll grow a tree which blooms Padrons

              Stems it is...fret over!

With something so beautifully crafted, to me....these are just a bit of an eyesore. They stick out like a sore thumb, and there is something completely unappealing about being able to pull something like this right through the end of your cigar. I personally would think, there would be a little more care in making sure these stems were removed and not included in the cigar. Obviously not though if they are to be found across the board.
