hi there.... Looking for adviceI am a regular cigar smoker and fly to Cuba regularly. I'm not an avid collector but on a recent trip invested in a box of behike 54's. What I would love to know is, is it best to lay them away or to sell them now for a profit. I didn't realise how popular and limited they were. Any advice (constructive) appreciated. Matt

to coin a phrase from the fun loving criminals: smoke em if you've got em.
And selling them would incur the wrath of HMRC as the import is for personal use only not for sale.
Further more: offering for sale on the forum will incur the wrath of the moderators. The new charity auction: http://www.ukcigarforums.com/showthr...lighter-raffle

If your trips are regular, stop being a Jessie and start becoming a collector, but more importantly, a smoker of fine cigars.
I think you will find the majority of the guys on this board, would rather give a cigar away for free, than to try and make a quick profit from another. Therefore if its just a quick buck youre after, I vote instead, become a cigar philanthropist and invite all your friends around, give them once each, and enjoy each others company for the afternoon. Will make you feel much better!
I am curious however. Why would someone, invest in something they admittedly knew little about? You say you were unaware of how sought after these would become....well why the hell buy them then?
Also keep in mind. If you are going to lay them away for a bit, remember to keep them in some form of humidor to keep them in pristine condition. You don't want to open them in a couple of years time to find saw dust!

Knewbee Alert!
Muchacho Dockers...it's customary for knewbees to introduce themselves to the z5.gifgang on the "knewbee greeting" forum. If you plan to stick around, I suggest you head on over there and tell us a bit about yourself.
Also spend some time in the UKCF Rules section and familiarize yourself with those pertaining to selling puros.

Thanks folks, sounds like I will be pulling up a chair and a Havana club and enjoying them then. Bought them from club Havana in miramar. Didn't know much about them as mainly a partagas smoker, but was extremely hard to buy legit in Havana. Never sold any on so didnt know rules n regs etc but now I know will look for 10 special occasions to light up.Detroit... I am lucky with my frequent trips so collecting here isn't the same as smoking the real thing on a Havana roof top or walking the streets of the old town. I am learning bit by bit and obviously had a bit of bum advice so am glad I have found this forum so next time I go I can get a genuine recommendation rather than playing safe with my serie p no.2 partagas

None of the old town hotels had any and neither did the partagas factory. Really enjoyed the shop and lounge at the club Havana shop. Don't know if his name was Enrique but rolled me his own cigar, like a maduro. Yeah I work for virgin which helps me obviously afford a better cigar for cheaper. Think it's time to invest in a nice humidor.

I shall have to let you know when I fly to Cuba with Virgin to see if you're about and on board. Im just waiting to collect the last 5000 odd FF points, as the misses decided to blitz most of them last year So I have made it very clear, that as soon as they hit enough to head to Cuba this time, I'm having a week out there on my lonesome It should be February time I think.
