  • How to send cigars!

    Hey guys

Looking for some pearls of wisdom here! I'm sending a couple of NCs to a mate in USA as a bit of a cheer me up kinda thing. I've never sent cigars by post before... obviously I want to keep them safe and secure... how do I do that?! I know I'm prob just not using common sense here, but it's late and I thought you guys would be in the know!!

    Cheers!

      It's so easy!

      And a humi-pak.

      BB

Hey BB! Why doesn't the lad send genuine puros? I'm sure his yankee amigo can get all the NCs he desires.

Why not cubans with the band removed? Or replaced with NC bands (although the latter is blatantly illegal I guess)

Probably both illegal, for the USA anyway... wouldn't be any comeback over here. Besides would you want to hear that a couple of fantastic cubans had met their end at the hands of US customs....

Am i right in saying that the Cuban trade embargo prevents trading and importing anything from Cuba, but doesn't prohibit Cuban products themselves? If that's the case, then sending Cuban products to the US from a country where it has already been legally imported is no problem at all (except of course for trading purposes)?

I think a public forum is no place to be discussing potential federal crimes. I would strongly advise to stop speculating on legality and focus on bubble wrap.

It certainly is if there's a chance you may be breaking them.

Back to the actual point - I'm going to take Stevieboy's route and send them via a VHS case with a ziploc inside - complete with bubble wrap for extra security (paranoid!)

Thanks for the advice guys - was a bit tipsy and devoid of common sense when I posted this last night!

                        Buyer beware....not the seller!

Anything Cuban is illegal under the US Patriot Act...even purchasing them in a foreign land! Having said that, it's the recipient that takes the risk, not the sender. I will send you a PM muchacho if you want to discuss further.

I have sent several parcel to BOLT in the States, in a VHS container (I actually pick up old vid's in charity shops just for the containers), zip lock bag sufficent. Mine always got through. Small light parcels are unlikey to have a problem, anything over a 1kg gets xrays these days but I guess you weren't intending to be that generous

                            Exactly, senor simplesimon.

I like the idea of using a crush-proof VHS container with a baggie to package the sticks . Who was that genius?

Couldn't hurt to throw in a humi-pak for good measure, however, to avert the hazards of snail mail to the US Homeland . Most of the sticks that come Mexico way include one. Always makes me feel good....like the sender went the extra kilometer to protect my fine puros!

                            Anyway, that's what I think.

Love the VHS idea, right now where to get them?
