Muchachos, I just finished off a fantastic rj_le2005.gifRomeo & Julieta Petit Piramide EL 2005. After sitting in my massive humidor for 6 years, the puro was very aromatic, smooth and well balanced. Hands down the best puro I've smoked this year.
Anyone else have a favorite of the year so far?

(Ahem!) Plus one! Hey don TJ! I wonder what the EL snobs will have to say about this?
Well I've smoked more this year than any other ( I blame the forum) and for me the fave is the HDM PR, I know nothing special and i have had some lovely sticks young and old but these are just floating my boat ( maybe my lack of experience leads me to prefer a less complex smoke,) I will compare next year
I smoked a Berta hand rolled Petit 'Johnny' just 5 days after it was rolled and that was my best of the year. Phenomenal smoke, smelled amazing unlit and lit. Short sharp smoke and truly wonderous all round.
RYJ Romeo no.2 tubos from the 1960's. Wow! Probably the best smoke I've ever had! Purchased from our own cigar aficionado a while back, along with some 1950's Jamaican cigars. Cheers Andy. A whole different smoking experience I tells ye. A whole different strength and balance thing going on. I was expecting a mild cigar, and having to search for flavours but no, I could taste the classic RYJ profile, that citrus like undertone, albeit not quite as prevailing as recent sticks. Along with mild liquorice and a dusty toast flavour, with a balance to die for, perfect burn and a ghost like ash with matching smoke, I reiterate, one of the best smokes ever. Thank you Andy for the experience to try these. I have one left and will save this for a very special experience.
Similar to TJs thoughts on the EL 2005. I was lucky enough to pick up a box of EL Mag 50 from 2005 last year and these have been an exceptional smoke.A perfectly balanced smoke with some delicious flavours, especially in the second half of the cigar. Has to be the best smoke I have had this year.

I smoked a fabulous Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure Especial LE 2004 in my summer holidays. Not sure if it was the sun or the wine but it was certainly one of my most memorable cigars this year.

smiley-char155.gifMe so happy! Don TJ also has a box of the H. Upmannn EL 2005 Mag 50s resting in his massive unit right next to the R&J Els from the same year.
Up until last night a Berta rolled robusto, a week after the deed, was up there. However had a P1 last night that knocked it out the park. I can still taste the honey.
