  • James Suckling Cigar Video showing London 23rd January

This project has been a few months in the making. James Suckling was filming while we were in Havana and Pinar del Rio for the Habanos festival in February last year.

James really knows his stuff and his partner in this project James Orr, is a big Hollywood name.

It will be a great film. I feel a Premier Herf coming on. I will try to find out where it will be premi?red in the UK.

    EDIT 16th January
It looks as though there will be a showing of the film at 10 Manchester Street on the 23rd January. More info when I get it but put the date in your diary and keep an eye on this thread for more details.

What's the film about, is it just about Cuba and the history of making cigars etc ???

                    The rest of the blurb:
Cigars - The heart and soul of Cuba
Directed by James Orr, presented by James Suckling – chronicles the entire process of Cuban cigar making, from planting to packaging, offering rare never seen before footage of the facilities where the cigars are produced and the people that make them. Suckling serves as an expert host, guiding viewers through his journey across Cuba.

In this film, James pulls on his experience to look at why Cuban cigars are widely revered as the finest cigars in the world and what this means to the people of Cuba. “I really hope that the film shows people how precious Cuban cigars are, how amazing they are and how much work and love it takes to make them” JS

This cigar was Introduced in November 1992 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the arrival of Columbus to the New World. Milder than the rest of the Cuban brands, but tasting very similar with mild creamy sweetness, medium bean flavours and also medium tobacco taste. 170mm of smoking pleasure.

wow. What a shame, ?50 is not for me. Have no desire to own the DVD and feels like this has been used to leverage the price. ?30 without the DVD would be more like it.

What with 10MS now enforcing their ?25 minimum spend (new this year) they are going to loose me (and several others) as regulars. Of course if this is the intention good luck to them

have to agree with the monkey on this, it does seem rather steep
it would have been nice to watch the film with a cigar and friends but not at this price
