I always look back to my one and only trip to cuba, this was the first time in my life that I had tried premium cubans. Specifically I recall the few days I spent in Havanna, wondering around the city in a mojito haze with a packet of Siglo IVs (and the family) for company. I am sure now that the cigars were probably not all that amazing but the combination of the booze, location, heat and smoke was simply intoxicating at the time.
In terms of more recent smokes, my best experiences (in no particualr order) have come in the shape of a JL2, a SLR serie A and Alec Bradley tempus
The first ever Flor De Cano short robusto that I picked up this year was hands down amazing, one of the best cigars I have ever had. So much so that I went down the next day and bought up the rest of that box. They haven't been up to that standard since but hey
My first BHK52 was fantastic too, probably only just behind the FDC but hardly anything in it. That was just a single though so I don't know if the quality is the same over multiple boxes.
07 ERDM lonsdales are incredible if you can get some which aren't plugged too
AND I'm not ashamed to admit it lol, a 1995 Quintero Panatela this spring sticks in my mind so strongly. It had the spice of partagas with sweet ceder combined with magnificant creamy toasted tobacco. I only have one of them left from that box now but nothing before or since from the marka (Or many others) has been like that one beautiful little stick it was just a little piece of Cuban magic that you get every once in a while regardless of marka or vitola
The following weekend I had an Oliva series V robusto which again was perfect. I've tried smoking a variety of stogies but nothing has come close to them
