I called in to see Berta at Graham's in Glasgow today and bought one of the robusto's she rolled. A question for you aficionado's out there. Smoke young fresh and new or age it in the humidor for a while?
My uneducated answer would be smoke straight away before it goes sick or you will need to leave it a few week but I'm sure a more experienced brethren will be along shortly
Hi, wher abouts is Grahams in Glasgow. I live in biaggar and could travel up to Glasgow, been looking online at cigars but as I am new to this i would prefer to go to a shop and speak to somone.
Grahams is on West nile street next to the sony centre. If you know where Greaves sports shop is on Gordon Street. its just round the corner. Personally I prefer Inverarity on Bath Street. The two guys in there are keen cigar smokers, The woman in Grahams is more knowledgable about whisky and I'm a bit iffy about the condition of there cigars. Inverarity has a place in Symington, their head office is there, but I dont know if you can buy from there. There is also some good shops in Edinburgh, that might be handier for you
Thanks Chiefly, i wasnt sure if it was the same folk but yes i know inverarity near here. I know the sony centre etc but will take yr views on and look at inverarity. Im in Glasgow more often than Edinburgh.
Theres another thread on this, I bought a half dozen between yesterday and today. smoked one straight away. Great smoke! Only quible would be it could have been slightly tighter with more tobacco. This was her last day in Scotland I believe, think its cardiff next week.
I'll prolly smoke another then put them to sleep for at least a year. get em while you can.

Hi mate, if it was noticeably loose, smoke them soon, don't keep them, they won't get any better....IMHO..

Wasnt overly loose, the robusto I had lasted over an hour, I just prefer a bit of resistance, but then we face the plugged cigar dilema if the roller lacks skill. Unlike my women, Id rather have a loose smoke than a tight one!
Hi Kdot
I was actually talking to you yesterday when I was in the shop, I think I will give it a go, an smoke it tomorrow.Im going up to Ayr with my bro in law to get some cigars at Dallings and I will take it with me. I was goin to spend more yesterday, but I have a wee Padron 45 year reserve to pick up at Inverarity n its gonnae set me back 38 bucks

Small world Chiefy, i'd suggest to smoke it now and get another to smoke next year. If you've not had a custom rolled right of the table before they have a tendancy to go sick after a few weeks, so dont leave it too long.
Dont get me started on the Padron 45s...mixed opinions on that smoke. Some swear by it but I just cant get on with the few ive had.
